Tirana, March 13, 2025 – The Chairman of the Steering Council of the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP), Mr. Gentian Sala, participated in the “Fit for the Future with 5G” conference, organized by Vodafone, to discuss the development and impact of 5G technology in Albania.
In his address, Mr. Sala commended Vodafone Albania for its significant contributions to the country’s digital transformation. He highlighted the company’s pivotal role in shaping the telecommunications market, from the introduction of BlackBerry in 2009 to the rollout of 3G, 4G+, and now 5G networks.
He also emphasized the importance of further regulating and advancing the fixed telephony market, underscoring AKEP’s strong commitment to this sector. Moving forward, AKEP will focus on ensuring a regulatory framework that fosters innovation and competition across the entire electronic communications industry.
