TIRANA, 24 JUNE 2025 – AKEP HOSTS WORKING MEETING WITH DELEGATION FROM THE REGULATORY AUTHORITY OF ELECTRONIC AND POSTAL COMMUNICATIONS OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOSOVO (ARKEP)

The Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP) welcomed an official delegation from the Regulatory Authority of Electronic and Postal Communications of the Republic of Kosovo (ARKEP) for a working visit.

During the visit, representatives of both institutions held a bilateral meeting where they discussed key issues related to the regulation of electronic and postal communications markets, as well as concrete ways to strengthen technical and institutional cooperation.

Discussions focused on several main areas, including:

  • Coordinated participation in international organizations such as ITU, BEREC, UPU, and regional cooperation networks;
  • Implementation and further evaluation of the Western Balkans Roaming Agreement;
  • Enhancing technical exchanges and promoting mutual training between the professional teams of both institutions;
  • Presentation of new organizational units established within the framework of AKEP’s new structure, approved by the Steering Council, and exchange of experiences regarding internal organization and functional work models.

As part of the visit, the ARKEP delegation was also introduced to the operation of the National Frequency Monitoring Center (NFMC) at AKEP, a crucial component in the monitoring and management of the frequency spectrum.

Both AKEP and ARKEP emphasized their mutual commitment to strengthening technical and regulatory cooperation, aiming at further harmonization of the regulatory framework and enhancing the quality of services for citizens and the market in both countries.
